That's just what Pleasant Rowland wanted, to awaken a love of history in girls. My daughter is a history major now and I credit that at least in part to AG. I also can't help but notice that dd has an understanding of the world, of how it works and how it got to be the way it is that seems to elude many of her very intelligent but historically far more unaware friends.
